Luke 13:1-21 - vs 8 - "and he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, til I shall dig it about, and dung it: and if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

There is a lot of wondering about bearing fruit and Jesus' response to our fruit or lack there of. When we are not bearing fruit God's response is to "dung us" or to make bring heavy trials... those often get our eyes off of ourselves and bring us to our knees in acknowledgment of God and is providence and Lordship in our lives.

For every son that He loves He rebukes and chastens. Don't hate the rebuke of God, love it, accept it, grow from it and remember Jesus.

This is exemplified not only by this parable but also in the verses that follow and is revealed that this is the very method of the Kingdom of God. As illustrated in vs 20 "the Kingdom of God is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

God allows sin, even till it is throughout the whole of ourselves. Then his rebuke and chastening will drive it out if we are humbled in His attempt and not stiff necked. - Lord help us!

Deuteronomy 32:28 - 52 - vs 38 - See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill and I make alive; I wound, and heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand...

There is no god with me. Some would assert that Jesus is a god and not God and that here is merely a god sitting along side God the Father. This verse along with many others clearly says the contrary. In fact Jesus is GOD as in the same nature as the Father. Different in person but same in nature one of only three that have this nature (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) all are the same one, that is, God.

Luke 8:40 - 9:6 - I think it is so interesting that the ruler of the Jews didn't believe that Jesus, could or would or whatever the case, heal his little girl. They, the ruler of the Jews - the same is the parents of the little girl- actually laughed when Jesus went in to heal the little girl. He called Him Master etc but look at the difference between the woman who had not been healed by the physicians and how she came to Jesus humble and looking to be healed, with a pure heart verses the little girls parents who laughed at what Jesus could do. Amazing... What person am I, a humble person looking just to be close to Jesus or do I laugh at Him and what He came to do maybe expecting Him to "do" something for me?

Proverbs 12:5-7 - The text reads...

The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit. The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them. The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.


Prayer - Lord please help me to have a heart that comes to you humbly not expecting anything but only wanting to be close to you as You deserve all my attention, thank you Jesus for helping me with my lack of faith, amen.
