Today's Bible reading...

Genesis 1:1-2:25
In the beginning God... No four words have ever described the whole of the Bible,God, Jesus Christ, or even Christianity, for that matter. God is the source behind it all. The ever present , knowledgeable being who started and will one day finish all that there is. Amazing as this is His entire workings from old until now have been in pursuit of humankind. While He searches and calls and draws all unto Himself He brings Glory to His name, magnifies Himself in the process. Oh how we ought to take notice of God How we ought to spend the one precious resource we have wisely and that being time. How we should invest in the only sure investment and that being God.

Isn't He worthy of this? Putting aside any sort of reward that may or may not be given, isn't God worthy of adoration and praise and Glory? Isn't He due these small sacrifices? I think so. If your favorite sports figure, or singer, or celebrity or how about the President of the United States of America showed up at your house it would be all grins and awe and wonder as to the occasion. The best clothes would be brought out, the best dinner with no expense sparred would be made and offered. The thought of even asking for an autograph would be to much as to impose on the important figure...

And yet with God it is so much less every day, every moment of everyday. So casual, so non important as to the guest we have in our homes or hearts. Or even the correct knowledge that we are guests in His home and we owe Him all and not the opposite.

- Lord Jesus, may I always have awe and fear and wonderment at you. May you have your rightful place on the throne of my heart, family, home, nation and world. I give you all praise honor and Glory in the best way I know how. In Jesus name amen.
