Today's Bible Reading...
Exodus 4:1 - 5:21 -
Matthew 18:1-22 - These verses are often misunderstood as I have often prayed to "bind satan" and other spirits. However recently the Lord showed me that this is not what these verses are about. Given the context of the "little ones" that is believers who come to the Lord humbly and as a child, the Lord protects them and goes after them as the shepherd who leaves the 99 to go after the 1 lost sheep. Also this is the context for the "Church Discipline".
When someone comes into the church and is a stumbling block to these new believers we are given the authority to go to them one on one then two then the church leaders then finally to regard them as a publican or a heathen. Then the Lord explains what these verses mean. If two believers come together in Jesus name regarding things on the earth it will be done. Weather that be to bind someone who is causing young believers to stumble or loose someone who is repenting of these things Jesus listens and answers according to His Will and it is the Fathers Will that none of these should perish!
